Denise Oyama Miller – “Yosemite Gold”

This solo exhibition features thirty impressionistic landscapes quilts of the western United States using a non-traditional technique, which used on the fabric landscapes is reminiscent of the pointillism of the neoimpressionist painters, Georges Seurat and Paul Signac. Where they used dots of paint, the quilting technique uses tiny pieces of fabric.  Currently, this is my favorite technique for making textile art.
