I am re-posting this from my July 26, 2010’s Woodhaven Studio blog, as there has been much discussion on the Quilt History List. The exhibit was showing at the Brooklyn Museum at that time, but the online slide presentation is still available for viewing.
If you have never seen Judy Chicago’s “The Dinner Party”, it is at the Brooklyn Museum in Brooklyn, New York. Their web site shows slides of the exhibit, which is incredible.
Two of the place settings.
Photo is the Museum’s.

The artists’ journals from “Seasonal Palette” with photos of the quilts is now online at: http://www.saqa.com/gallery-mini-detail.php?ID=2379
This is a juried exhibit from SAQA’s members. Artists in this exhibition were asked to keep journals as they created their artwork. These journals are placed on display with the exhibition at each venue.
I saw this fabulous exhibit at International Quilt Festival’s Cincinnati Show in April 2013. Reading the journals and seeing the sketches, photos, etcetera in the journals made the art even more enjoyable to view.

Here are two excellent tutorials on screen printing using thermofax screens: http://smudgedtextilesstudio.com/thermofax-screen-printing/
Just scroll down the page to get to the two Youtube tutorials.
These are on Lynn Krawczyk’s new web site. They’re easy to follow and understand. Great job, Lynn!
Maggie Weiss is on You Tube with a screen printing demo using the thermofax machine at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3dH5lStwhs&feature=related
