Pam Holland, who taught at the International Quilt Festival 2010 in Chicago last month, put together a presentation on The Quilt Show about the Festival.  She starts out kind of hokey, but then shows some of the great quilts at the show.

Evening dresses ranging from 1890 to 1925 are on exhibit at the  Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City through August 15, 2010.
American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity
The garments on display at the American Woman:  Fashioning a National Identity at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City speak volumes about women and their changing social roles in modern society during the years spanning 1890 to 1940.

The Quilt Art group, based in Europe, is beginning its US tour of QUILT ART: INTERNATIONAL EXPRESSIONS  next month.  The first venue “Quilt Art 20” is at the Minnestrista Center in Muncie, Indiana, June 12 – August 29, 2010.

The Machine Quilter’s Showcase is  this week at the Overland Park Convention Center in Kansas City.  Dates are May 12 – 15, 2010.

I will be appraising quilts at the show, both hanging quilts and those brought in.

Half of the 85 pieces for Fiberart International 2010 are at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and the other half are at the Society for Contemporary Craft through August 22, 2010.  This is the 20th exhibition, which is sponsored by the  Fiber Arts Guild of Pittsburg.
